Immediately following Harley Clifford's winning run at the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour stop in Acworth, a handful of the sport's top athletes took on the massive wake from the new MasterCraft XStar during the Rockstar Double Up contest. What ensued was nothing short of amazing, as Rusty Malinoski and Phillip Soven soared to rare heights off the XStar's wake to land elusive back-to-back 1080s in front of a dazzled crowd of 8,000 spectators.
"When we launched the new XStar we knew the wake was going to ride better and punt the riders up more to get today's tricks done easier," said Zane Schwenk, MasterCraft team rider and Southeast rep. "We'd seen that in the testing with our entire team, but what we weren't dialed in on was how this much larger wake would handle in the double ups. We'd literally only done a few, so to see the field at the Pro Wakeboard Tour go out and nail back-to-back 1080's the first time out of the box was just incredible. It's clear that the sport will be rotating more from this new wake."
